Why do I need a designer?
Picking out cabinets to fit in a kitchen is the fun part. It is the thought that goes into the design and layout that requires talent and education. Designers work to ensure that your kitchen functions properly, traffic flows well through the kitchen, the “work triangle” is within guidelines, as well as other important criteria.

Customers often spend serious money for kitchen remodeling and nothing is as frustrating as spending money and realizing the mistakes you could have avoided by consulting a professional.

What makes a kitchen more or less expensive?
Cabinets account for about half the total cost of the project and will have the greatest impact on your budget. They range in price considerably based on quality, the type of material they are made of, and whether they are stock (ready made in specific sizes) or custom (produced specifically for your kitchen in whatever sizes are needed).

The material you choose for surfaces including counters, backsplashes and floors can also account for variations in price.

Other key elements that factor in to the equation are talent and workmanship. In the remodeling business, you get what you pay for. A team of skilled tradesmen and expert installers will be what you'll appreciate every time you use your kitchen in the years ahead.

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.

What do I need to consider when buying a granite countertop?
Granite is a natural stone. It is very hard and durable, heat and scratch resistant as well as easy to maintain. It is also not affected by typical kitchen heat such as hot pans. Aside from the practical aspect, granite is very versatile in the design field. It comes in various colors and structural compositions. All stones are not exactly the same, each lot will have unique characteristics attributed to the specific granite.

What is the best way to clean marble and other stones?
The old rule of thumb is never to use anything you wouldn't use on your hands. Never use powdered cleansers or abrasive pads to clean your stone. Even "soft scrub" type cleaners contain pumice, which is powdered volcanic stone, and might damage your stone countertops or floors.

Never use any product which is acidic; this includes substances like ammonia or many common liquid cleaners such as Windex. You should always use sealers and cleaning products designed specifically for natural stone.

Should I use marble or granite for my kitchen countertops?
Marble is typically used for the bathroom vanity tops, Jacuzzi tops and fireplaces, but it is possible to use it in the kitchen. However, it scratches easily and is affected by acidic substances, such as vinegars, ketchups, etc. The high-gloss of the marble countertop can be lost and dulled by many chemicals that etch its surface.

Granite in turn is considered the second hardest stone, its polish is not subject to etching by household acids, or scratching by knives and pots and pans under normal use.

What is natural quartz?
Quartz is one of the hardest, most abundant minerals found in nature - only diamond, sapphire and topaz are harder.

What are the advantages of Silestone?
Silestone is a dense, non-porous stone that delivers unsurpassed reliability and performance -- scratch-resistance and stain-resistance with no sealing required in a large variety of naturally beautiful colors.

What is the kitchen "work triangle" and why is it important?
The "work triangle" is the kitchen area from the refrigerator to the main cooking area to the main sink. Connect the three and it should form a triangle (unless you have a 'one-wall' kitchen). It's important because at or immediately adjacent to the triangle's points all the key kitchen activities -- food preparation, cooking and clean up -- take place.

The work triangle helps to ensure that your kitchen will be functional. It keeps cooking activities centered in one area, with all the necessities close at hand.

Where's the best place to put a microwave?
Like most things about your new kitchen, it will depend on how you and your family use the appliance. From a safety and accessibility standpoint, the microwave should be positioned so that the bottom of the appliance is 24" to 48" above the floor. Consult with your designer for the best place to locate it.

What is GFCI and do I need it?
GCFI stands for Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters. GFCI monitors the balance of electrical current moving through the circuit. If an imbalance occurs, GFCI cuts off the electricity. Its purpose is to prevent fatal electrical shocks. As you know, water and electricity are a deadly combination. Since both are necessary in kitchens and bathrooms, all switches, sockets, breakers and circuits for those rooms should be GFCI protected for your family's safety.
